2024 Elmbridge ‘Junior Citizen’ event

On Wednesday 24th April Deputy Lieutenant, Mary Zoeller attended the 2024 Elmbridge ‘Junior Citizen’ event at The Xcel Sports Hub in Walton-on-Thames.

The annual event is a series of interactive safety workshops for Year 6 children in Elmbridge, with over 1,200 10-11 year olds from local primary schools across the borough attending. The workshops cover the dangers and consequences of criminal damage, anti-social behaviour, water safety, safety on the railways, money matters and drug and alcohol awareness.

Participating agencies include British Transport Police, PA Housing, Places Leisure, Network Rail/South Western Railway, Barclays Bank and Hope UK.

This event is a very impressive programme of workshops, and an event that will make a hugely positive impact on these children’s lives.
