Mandira’s Kitchen receives a Surrey Lieutenancy Certificate of Appreciation

On 27th July, Deputy Lieutenant Jane Macaulay was delighted to to present  Mandira’s Kitchen  with a Surrey Lieutenancy Certificate of Appreciation.

Mandira’s Kitchen has donated almost 5000 free meals to the local community including those in need, NHS workers and the Dorking community fridge. The intention is to keep this initiative going and seek sponsorship from local companies as well as selling Holiday Hunger vouchers on  their take away website. They also came up with the initiative to send exactly the same ready to serve meal to different addresses across the country to allow families and loved ones, who were apart, to enjoy the same meal together but virtually. This small and local business, through the holiday hunger initiative,  allowed many families to retain their dignity and mental health in such difficult times.
