D- Day 80th Anniversary in Farnham

Farnham ran a special D-Day commemoration on the 80th anniversary of the world’s greatest amphibious assault.  A number of local schools gathered together at the town’s war memorial and children of different ages read some emotional poems about D Day, often relating the writing to their relatives.  They were joined by a number of veterans and serving regular and reservist personnel from the Armed Forces.  The Sea Cadet Corps was also present.  Farnham was represented by the Mayor, Councillor Brodie Mauluka, whilst the Lieutenancy was represented by Colonel Patrick Crowley MBE DL.
