PRESTIGIOUS ROYAL AWARD FOR SURREY VOLUNTEERS

His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey has been delighted to present three King’s Awards for Voluntary Service recently. The first presentation was to the volunteers of the Spelthorne Litter Pickers, then a few evenings later the Lord-Lieutenant met the Volunteers of The Revallaires to present their Award and finally this week he presented their Award to the volunteers who run the Surrey Hills Community Radio Station.

The King’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest honour a voluntary group can receive in the UK and the equivalent to an MBE for a group of volunteers.

Each event was a chance to celebrate and thank the amazing, selfless volunteers who spend time supporting others in their local communities. Well done to all those volunteers!
