Fitstuff Run Club Leaders receive the Surrey Lieutenancy Certificate of Appreciation

On 20th July, Deputy Lieutenant Jane Macaulay was delighted to present Fitstuff Run Club Leaders with a Surrey Lieutenancy Certificate of Appreciation.

Whilst many other clubs stopped operating due to Covid rules the run club leaders continued, through the Group Facebook page, to keep the members out running. This club is unique as there are no fees and the leaders make no charges. Run challenges were posted every single week, some weeks they were virtual competitions. Members were encouraged to post up about their own runs and good-natured banter occurred during the competitive weeks. The encouragement of these leaders for members to continue exercising out in the fresh air and equally importantly to feel part of this unique community had a very real & positive affect on the mental health and well-being of many if both all of the members .
