Guildford Hongkongers Lunar New Year Market
On Saturday 10th February, Guildford Hongkongers hosted a Lunar New Year Market at Guildford Cathedral, on the first day of the Lunar New Year.
Attended by Deputy Lieutenant Richard Whittington, the market had over 60 stalls, including food, handicrafts, clothing, and toys and also included entertaining performances.
Guildford Hongkongers has been serving the Hongkongers community in Guildford and the surrounding areas for the last few of years. They provide informative service in accessing local resources and general enquiries, host practical workshops in responding to Hongkongers integration needs, host thematic seminars with information and guidance to BN(O)s and their dependents, arrange English language skills training and workshops for developing skills for employment and socialising, language and culture classes, and training to preserve culture and identity to build community relationships through social events and hobby classes.
