HRH The Duchess of Gloucester visits the Royal Alexandra and Albert School in Reigate

HRH The Duchess of Gloucester visited the Royal Alexandra and Albert School in Reigate to officially re-open newly refurbished Gatton Hall in Gatton Park, that is both a sixth form boarding house and venue for important school occasions. In her role as the School’s President, the Duchess cut the vast red ribbon that had been tied around the six pillars of this imposing Grade II listed building. She talked to boarders who proudly showed her around their new living environment, met teaching staff who care for ‘Foundation’ pupils and spoke to some of the pupils that currently benefit from the support of the School’s charity. Some of those who worked on the £3.2m Gatton Hall refurbishment project, which was completed on time, were also presented to the Royal visitor.
