HRH The Princess Royal visits Surrey

HRH The Princess Royal spent a day in Surrey on 7th October. Her Royal Highness started her visits in the picturesque village of Dunsfold, to officially open English Rural’s new affordable rural housing development. Recently completed, the small development of eight new homes at ‘Miller Lane’ provides four houses and two flats that will benefit local people. Two additional homes have been made available at Discounted Local Sale to cross-subsidise the affordable homes.

Her Royal Highness was then welcomed at Vision Engineering Limited (Woking, UK), to present them with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for its Lynx EVO ergonomic stereo microscope.

During the visit Mr Curtis, Managing Director of Vision Engineering invited HRH The Princess Royal to plant two Alder trees next to its wildlife pond, in support of The Queen’s Green Canopy Project, a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, that honours The Queen’s 70 years of service to the Nation, and benefit future generations. QGC invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”, and is operating from now until the end of 2022, the Queen’s 70th Jubilee Year.

HRH The Princess Royal then visited Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging to recognise their 2021 Queen’s Award for Innovation. Based in Bridge Park in Guildford, Hallmarq is a world leader in providing advanced veterinary imaging systems and was awarded this prestigious accolade earlier this year for their 1.5T small animal MRI scanner. Princess Anne toured the factory and offices, meeting staff from all departments.
