King’s Award for Voluntary Service Presentation to Farnham Repair Cafe
On Friday 10th January, The Lord-Lieutenant presented Farnham Repair café with their 2024 King’s Award for Voluntary Service at Farnham Town Council Offices.

Farnham Repair Café (FRC) was established to support the repair of products in Farnham. Household products are repaired by a community of 30 volunteers and a 67% repair rate has been achieved. FRC was established in 2014 and became a charity in 2017.
The objectives of FRC are to protect and safeguard the environment for the public benefit through the promotion of repair and re-use of products as a means of preventing and minimising waste disposal.
FRC works in collaboration with The Centre for Sustainable Design at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham Town Council, and The Spire Church in Farnham and are part of the global Repair Café movement led by The Repair Café International Foundation.
FRC also founded and launched the Greater Surrey Repair Café Network (GSRCN) in January 2023 as a neutral platform to share knowledge and experience amongst more experienced repair cafés with start-up and early-stage repair cafes.
