Lieutenancy Certificate of Appreciation
On 1st October, Peter Takkar and Manmeet Laghmani, owners of the Effingham Mini Market in Effingham, near Cobham were presented with a Surrey Lieutenancy Certificate of Appreciation by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant, Sir Stephen Lamport.
Peter and Manmeet are widely admired for the for the friendly and caring service they provide. They kept their village store open thought the pandemic and provided a lifeline to local people seven days a week, rising nearly every day at 4am to buy fresh produce for the day and often working late into the evening to stock their shop for the following day. They were ‘delighted and humbled’ to be given a certificate and have since received huge numbers of congratulatory messages from loyal customers.
