Lieutenancy Certificate of Appreciation
On Tuesday 13 July Professor Paul Layzell DL visited Collingwood College, Camberley, to present Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant’s Award of Appreciation for Exceptional Service to the Local Community to two students. Kian (left) and Max (right) were nominated by Assistant Head Nic Everson and Royal Holloway’s Higher Education Outreach Network Officer Jonathan Baldwin, for their amazing contributions to the local community. Kian, a keen engineering student, used 3D printers to create PPE for local businesses, NHS centres, and nursing homes. Max, now at Farnborough Sixth Form and wanting to pursue a career in Medicine, used his part-time paper round to form a network of residents to whom he gave his support – from shopping on their behalf to topping up electricity meters. Both students were presented their awards in front of their families and staff at Collingwood.
