Each year in October, a number of young people are appointed to serve as Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets.
They are drawn from the Sea Cadets, Army Cadets, the Air Training Corps, the Combined Cadet Force and from the civil uniformed youth organisations – Scouts, Girl Guiding and the St John Ambulance – across Surrey.
When on duty, Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets wear a distinctive sash with the badge of their appointment, to denote their role. They assist the Lord-Lieutenant as required – often on parade for Royal visits – and act as ambassadors for their organisations and the young people of Surrey.
This year’s cadets are:
Scout – Samuel Tough
Company Sergeant Major Charles Bright
Petty Officer Cadet Lucas Broomfield
Petty Officer Cadet Kai-William Taylor-Pullen
Cadet Warrant Officer Freya Wild
Cadet Colour Sergeant Eleanor Lowery
Girl Guide – Kathryn (Katie) Lawton
