Surrey Scouts Chief Scout’s Gold Award Presentations

On Saturday 1st February, Deputy Lieutenant, Mrs Mary Zoeller, accompanied by Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet, Explorer Scout Daniel Booker, presented Chief Scout Gold Awards at Dorking United Reformed Church

The Chief Scout’s Gold Award is the top award for Scouts and requires completion of 15 separate awards made up of nine challenges and six activities. The challenges and activities the Scouts have to complete require determination, resilience, teamwork, commitment and leadership.

The attendees, their families, and leaders were welcomed by Mr Paul Iverson of Surrey Scouts who introduced Mr Joe Rogerson, the Surrey Scouts County Commissioner, who gave an inspiring speech to the award winners. Mrs Zoeller presented certificates to 60 young people from across Surrey who had achieved this prestigious award.
