Emerge Advocacy receives Queen’s Award
Volunteers from Emerge Advocacy have received the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service 2021.
Emerge trains and equips local volunteers to support young people who are attending the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford – and other hospitals – due to self-harm, suicide attempt or emotional crisis. This team of volunteers dedicates the time to offer a friendly face and listening ear to young people in the midst of crisis, speaking a #VoiceofHope into their situation, improving patient experience and freeing up hospital staff time. This Award is the equivalent of the MBE for volunteering.
