Lieutenancy Certificate of Appreciation
On 24th August, Kelly Smith from Boogie Monsters was delighted to receive a Surrey Lieutenancy Certificate of Appreciation from Nicola Dawes a Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey.
Boogie Monsters are a Redhill-based live music experience for children who adapted their service when the first lockdown started and provided a valuable free service to keep children engaged and entertained. Their creativity and energy resulted in 80 consecutive days of free live Facebook song requests to keep children dancing and singing during lockdown. They also recorded and edited videos for virtual festivals and the Great Ormond Street Hospital Christmas party. A highlight of the period was Kelly undertaking a 24-hour live charity challenge (at times joined by daughter Elsie and brother Ben) raising over £2000. So many local families have said that Boogie Monsters have been a key part of their lockdown experience, and Kelly – and mascot Boogie – have been at the heart of this.
