BERT leads the way with community response
Brockham Emergency Response Team (BERT) was set up in 2013 to respond to local emergencies and help protect the lives of those in distress in its community. Now, with emergency funding from Surrey’s Coronavirus Response Fund and Mole Valley DC, BERT has set up a foodbank with Christ Church, Brockham to provide for those in financial hardship – many older and vulnerable – during the Coronavirus pandemic. Working in partnership with Mid-Surrey Community Fridges and Fare Share, ‘foodaid Brockham’ uses donated supplies from supermarket hubs with BERT centrally co-ordinating requests from residents received by phone/email to: foodaid@bertbrockham.org.uk or call 01737 402821.
