#ClapForOurCarers
The Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey, Michael More-Molyneux and his wife Sarah (above) socially distanced with neighbours at 8pm on Thursday 14th May to #ClapForOurCarers. This event has become a weekly ritual: the first national clapping in gratitude for front line champions was held on Thursday 26 March at the same time. But while the event was originally held in honour of the NHS, the ‘Clap For Our Carers’ event now pays tribute to all key workers including NHS staff, supermarket workers and teachers. On 12th May, the Lord-Lieutenant had delivered food to nurses at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford to mark International Nurses’ Day, before going on to nearby North Guildford Food Bank at Park Barn. more…
