Grant for PPE protects Transform key workers
The charity Transform Housing and Support operates across Surrey, providing vital accommodation and support for homeless, vulnerable and excluded people. Transform clients – who can face challenges that include mental ill-health, disability, a history of offending, or substance abuse – often don’t have a wide support network of family and friends to help them if they need to self-isolate. It’s also common for them to have other mental and physical health problems, which put them more at risk during the coronavirus pandemic. Recognising this, the Community Foundation for Surrey awarded Transform a £5,000 grant for Personal Protective Equipment so that the charity’s front line key workers can deliver their service safely to clients.
