Guildford Cathedral turns blue for NHS

Guildford Cathedral – high on Stag Hill – is being illuminated in blue, the colour of the NHS, every Thursday evening during the crisis, to salute healthcare workers in their fight against the coronavirus. Other UK landmarks turning blue include the London Eye, the Royal Albert Hall, the Shard and Wembley Stadium in the capital, the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and Lincoln Cathedral. Kitchens at the Cathedral’s Seasons Café and Restaurant are preparing fresh meals for staff at the Royal Surrey County Hospital to pick up at the end of their shift. All the food is being provided through crowdfunding. Since the cathedral closed on 17th March, services are conducted from clergy’s homes and can be accessed via the Cathedral website and Facebook page. Click here to find out more.
