Helping Surrey communities through the crisis
Surrey Community Action (SCA) is working with the county’s voluntary, community and faith sectors to help co-ordinate their responses to the coronavirus. SCA always supports 100+ Good Neighbour schemes in Surrey and now is helping them to remain active and effective in the crisis. That includes supplying ID lanyards for new mutual aid groups launched to support existing Good Neighbour schemes, which have had to scale back due to the age of volunteers. And the SCA ‘Warmth Matters’ adviser is providing vital online and telephone support (07521 503 696) for Surrey residents who have suddenly found themselves without employment or on a reduced income, struggling to pay their utility bills – including access to the warm home discount and priority service register.
