Lord-Lieutenant volunteers with ‘Surrey Drive’

On 27th April, Surrey’s Lord-Lieutenant, Michael More-Molyneux, joined a team from local networking group, Surrey Event Professionals, volunteering to provide hot meals to hardworking NHS staff during the coronavirus crisis. This is part of ‘Surrey Drive’ a campaign organised by local catering companies, events specialists and other businesses plus volunteers working together to cook and deliver some 4,500+ meals each week. Crowdfunded with over £20,000 of public support,·the caterers and volunteers are cooking and driving an enticing range of nutritious, immune boosting hot meals and sweet treats to frontline staff working within the Royal Surrey County Hospital Trust – both in the Guildford hospital and at other key NHS locations in the west of the county.
